Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool on the Night shift. The role is full time with 36 hours per week at 0.9 FTE, serving acutely ill patients across inpatient units.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care, collaborating with the health team, and documenting patient outcomes. Requires BSN or ADN with BSN commitment, IL RN license, BLS, and ER- and pediatric-specific certifications as applicable.

Qualifications

• BSN/ADN with commitment to BSN within three years of first day of employment.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to collaborate with others and strong interpersonal skills.
• ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year for ER; Pediatric ER TNCC within one year.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with patients, families and health team members to coordinate care.
• Develop individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes.
• Direct care and manage nursing care delivery with appropriate delegation.
• Document patient responses and adjust plan of care based on data and evidence.
