Job summary
Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for Float Pool on a part-time night shift. You will provide bedside care to acutely ill patients, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and supervise support staff as needed.
The role requires a Illinois RN license, BSN/ADN with BSN in progress, BLS, and strong teamwork. Additional ER/Peds certifications within 1 year are preferred, with a commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain a BSN within 3 years.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate.
- Strong analytic abilities.
- ER: ACLS; PALS/ENPC & TNCC within 1 year of hire.
- Pediatric ER: Pediatric Advanced Life Support; TNCC within 1 year.
- Preferred: Trauma Nurse Specialist, Emergency Communications RN, Certified Pediatric/ Emergency Nurse; PALS/ACLS.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process.
- Coordinate care with patient, family, physicians and staff.
- Direct care and supervision of nursing assistants as needed.
- Document plan of care and patient responses in health records.
- Collaborate with care team to ensure outcomes are met.
- Participate in governance, committee work, and unit projects.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to guide decisions.
- Adhere to ethics, regulations, and policy standards.
