Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool on nights. This full-time position supports multiple hospital locations in Illinois, providing specialized inpatient care and coordinating with the care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The role requires a BSN or ADN with a plan to attain a BSN within three years, active IL RN license, and BLS. Additional ER/BLS-specific certifications may be required; benefits include tuition reimbursement and 401(k) matching,

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Interact with patients, families, and health team members while upholding ANA standards.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate patient progress toward outcomes.
• Direct care and coordination with assistants and other staff involved in patient care.
• Collaborate with patient, family, physicians, and staff; document plans and communications.
• Participate in governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Document patient responses in the health record and adjust plans accordingly.
• Use evidence and research to guide practice decisions.
