Inova Health in Alexandria is seeking an RN Fellow for the Inova Alexandria Hospital Medical/Surgical unit, providing a next step in your nursing journey with a 3 x 12 hour night shift. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available and the program emphasizes safety, quality and patient experience.

The RN Fellow progresses through supervised clinical training and classroom modules, with potential to precept after orientation.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN clinical experience in the acute care setting.
• BSN from an accredited nursing program; ADN must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
• RN licensed or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments to collect basic data under supervision of an experienced RN.
• Organizes, prioritizes and delivers patient care to assigned patients using the Nursing Practice Model to achieve outcomes.
• Provides compassionate and empathetic hands-on care while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
• States rationale for clinical decisions based on education and evidence-based practices.
• Works efficiently with the healthcare team to maximize productivity and outcomes.
• Accurately documents all patient care activities per documentation standards.
• Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as an active team member.
• Integrates new knowledge into safe, high-quality patient care and seeks feedback.
• Attends and participates in all learning sessions assigned for RN Fellowship completion.
• May serve as a preceptor following orientation and competency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
