Job summary

Riverside Health System in Newport News, Virginia is seeking an experienced RN for a full-time night shift (7pm–7am). This position focuses on assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of total nursing care for assigned patients under supervision of the Nurse Manager and Director.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Virginia or a compact state upon hire
• CPR/BLS Certification upon hire
• Weekend and irregular shifts may be required

Responsibilities

• Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs and develop plan of care.
• Collaborate with patients and families to implement and evaluate care.
• Facilitate safe transitions and maintain patient throughput.
• Educate patients and families; ensure understanding and discharge education.
• Complete clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards.
• Delegate tasks and respond to emergencies to meet patient needs.
