Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a nursing leader for the 7p-7a night shift at Atrium Health University City. This part-time role requires BSN, RN licensure, and leadership skills to supervise staff, coordinate patient flow, and ensure compliance with policies. 24 hours per week with supportive benefits is offered.

Responsibilities include rounds, staff guidance, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and staffing efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• Two years nursing experience preferred.
• BSN required.
• RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year and complete within 3 years.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• CPI certification required within 90 days of hire date.
• Appropriate professional certification within 1 year of eligibility for exam.

Responsibilities

• Communicates administrative problems and actions taken to the nurse leader, Administrator-On-Call when appropriate, and/or senior administrative leader.
• Rounds on all units to assess efficiency and productivity and patient care satisfaction.
• Guides staff in understanding and complying with state/federal laws and Nursing Practice Act policies.
• Coordinat es communication at regular intervals throughout shifts via huddles, rounds, or meetings.
• Assists with appropriate utilization of resources to meet patient care needs.
• Supervises nursing personnel, identifies problems, initiates corrective action, and documents actions.
• Provides advice to nurses on new treatments or medications and interprets policies for staff, patients, families, and visitors.
• Coordinates shift management of patient flow and admissions/transfers with interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitors staffing across shifts using Float Pool/PRN resources and reallocation.
