Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
• One year of nursing experience.
• If hired after Jan 6, 2014, must pursue BSN or MSN within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify and meet learning needs for self; use patient education materials.
• Evaluation of care: define outcomes and discuss with the interdisciplinary team.
• Implementation: provide care for complex patients and coordinate with care team.
• Leadership: develop goals for professional growth; promote interdepartmental collaboration.
• Patient assessment: identify priorities and plan care with patients and families.
• Planning: update care plan with multidisciplinary resources; address cultural issues.
• Research: review journals and bring ideas to the team.
