Job summary

UNC Rex Healthcare is seeking compassionate registered nurses to join the Staffing Response Team as part of the inpatient float pool. You will float across multiple units at UNC Rex Raleigh and Holly Springs campuses, providing care wherever needed.

Ideal candidates hold NC RN licensure, a BSN preferred, and at least two years in acute care. This per diem role requires the ability to work 12-hour days at least every other week and a strong team orientation to support patient care across services.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have NC RN Licensure.
• BLS; ACLS; RN NC LIC.
• Minimum of two years of current acute care hospital experience in the chosen clinical division.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe environment and follows patient safety protocols.
• Performs timely, holistic assessments and communicates changes to physicians.
• Documents assessments and care per procedure; uses SBAR for reports.
• Develops and updates individualized care plans with the healthcare team.
• Implements and evaluates the nursing plan of care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates patient status and outcomes; updates care plan as needed.
• Clarifies medications and uses two identifiers before administration.
• Initiates patient education and discharge planning as prescribed.
• Adheres to Rex policies and evidence-based nursing practice; completes mandatory education.
• Upholds ANA Code of Ethics and professional accountability.
