Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut seeks a Registered Nurse for night shift, 7:00pm-7:30am with rotating weekends and holidays. You will provide direct patient care, utilize the nursing process, and build a strong nurse-patient relationship to improve outcomes.

The role requires a BSN/MSN preferred, CT RN license, BLS, ACLS/NRP within 90 days, and completion of fetal monitoring training; NCC cert within two years is encouraged. One year RN experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing.
• Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of basic fetal monitoring class by orientation end; NCC certification within two years of hire.
• RNC or RN-BC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence through nursing process and nurse-patient relationship.
• Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care.
• Provide direct patient care during shift and collaborate with health care team.
