Job summary

Backus Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for a full-time, night-shift role (7:00pm-7:30am) with rotating weekends and holidays. The position emphasizes clinical competence, patient assessment, and collaborative care within a dynamic team in Connecticut.

Education requirements include a BSN or MSN preferred; CT RN licensure with BLS is required, and ACLS/NRP are expected within specified timelines. Prior residency programs and RN-BC/RNC certification are viewed favorably.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing. BSN or MSN preferred.
• One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of nurse residency program. Two (2) or more years experience in this specific clinical area preferred.
• Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in CT.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) on hire; ACLS and NRP within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of basic fetal monitoring class by end of orientation; NCC within two years of hire.
• RN Core Certification (RNC or RN-BC) preferred.

• Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care.
