Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a Respiratory Therapist at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves providing respiratory care across departments, including pediatric and adult areas, with emphasis on patient safety and standards of care.

Requires NBRC-registered RRT and NC licensure, BLS, and within 90 days PALS/NRP (and ACLS for adults). Shift: Full-time, Nights, at a major medical center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved two- or four-year program for respiratory care or NBRC eligibility.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC and licensed to practice in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• PALS and NRP required within 90 days of employment; ACLS required for Adult within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and uses communication to promote teamwork.
• Provides respiratory therapies following age-specific standards of care and policies.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation and airway support per guidelines.
• Reports routine procedures to relief staff to ensure continuity of care and performs point-of-care testing as assigned.
• Provides invasive and non-invasive monitoring to ensure patient safety and appropriate care.
• Maintains professional knowledge and supports quality improvement to enhance service.
• Ensures age-appropriate patient care according to Age-Specific Care Guidelines.
