Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Respiratory Therapist in Michigan to provide care across emergency, ICU and therapeutic settings. The role includes monitoring, diagnostics and patient education, with supervision of interns and ongoing equipment maintenance.

Applicants should hold an Associate degree from a CAAHEP-accredited program, current state licensure, NBRC RRT credential and BLS certification. Full-time schedule with night shifts and on-call duties as specified by the department.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in respiratory therapy from a CAAHEP-accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a respiratory therapist.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through NBRC.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Interview, examine and assess patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Consult with physicians to develop patient treatment plans and create therapy programs.
• Perform diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity and blood gas analyses.
• Treat patients using chest physiotherapy, aerosol medications, CPAP and BIPAP therapies.
• Monitor and record progress and educate staff and patients on treatments.
• Operate and maintain respiratory equipment and participate in quality assurance.
