Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the 12x3 night shift (7pm–7am). The role includes ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support for adults and neonates, under medical director supervision.

Requires Texas license, NBRC registration, and 6 months of experience with BLS/ACLS; NRP/PALS within 1 year of hire. Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program and current credentialing are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program and state license in good standing in Texas.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required at start; obtain NRP/PALS within 1 year of hire.
• RN/RT regulatory requirements and NBRC registration must be current.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, and humidity therapy.
• Manages airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs as prescribed.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data and documents assessment findings.
• Cares for adults and neonates with proficiency under supervision, following policies.
• Maintains equipment, adheres to infection control and safety standards.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program

Current Basic Life Support certification

Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification

NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire

Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board

Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
