Mercyhealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with breathing problems, manage ventilators, deliver medications, and monitor outcomes. The role includes on-site care, patient education, and documenting treatment plans in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• RRT or CRT accepted; must earn RRT within 1 year if not eligible.
• CPR and NRP within 90 days of orientation; WI/IL license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine therapies to aid in treatment, diagnosis, and evaluation of cardiopulmonary status.
• Initiates, monitors, and weans invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Assesses patients before/after medications or procedures and recommends therapy changes as needed.
• Documents care and patient/family education in EMR and departmental records.
• Sets up and maintains ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, and related equipment.
• Responds to emergent care situations and assists with resuscitation per guidelines.
