Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join the night shift on a 12-hour schedule. The role covers routine therapies, initiation and monitoring of ventilation (invasive and non-invasive), patient assessment, and therapy optimization per physician orders.

You will document in the EMR, educate patients and families, and participate in emergency response and quality initiatives while maintaining safety and compliance across care settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Minimum 1 year respiratory experience; 6 months critical care.
• IL and/ or WI Respiratory Care Practitioner license; RRT preferred; CPR/NRP within 90 days of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine therapies to aid in treatment of cardiopulmonary status.
• Initiate, monitor, evaluate, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Make parameter recommendations based on clinical and lab data.
• Assess and adjust treatment regimes and oxygen delivery per physician orders.
• Document care in EMR and department records.
• Set up, calibrate and troubleshoot ventilators and non-invasive devices.
• Provide patient/family education about therapies and goals.
• Assist with emergency rounds and resuscitation per AHA guidelines.
