Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Night shift Respiratory Therapist to perform routine and advanced therapies for adult and pediatric patients. You will initiate and manage ventilation strategies, assess clinical status, and document care in the EMR.

The role requires precise protocol adherence, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with physicians and nurses. Qualified candidates will have a Respiratory Care Program degree, RRT/CRT eligibility, and current CPR/NRP certifications with licensure

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• RRT- CRT will be accepted for RTs not eligible for RRT; others must earn RRT within 1 year of hire.
• CPR and NRP certifications required within defined timelines; IL/WI licensure may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, monitor, evaluate, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Assess patients before and after therapies and adjust treatments as needed.
• Document in EMR and departmental records with accurate, timely entries.
• Maintain and troubleshoot ventilators and related equipment; assist with emergency care per guidelines.
• Provide education to patients and families; participate in rounds and quality control activities.
