Job summary

The position requires an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program, RRT certification within 1 year, and ACLS within 60 days, with a potential sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Less than 1 year related experience.
• Ability to provide respiratory therapy methodologies and techniques.
• Ability to operate and trouble-shoot diagnostic equipment.
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - National Board for Respiratory Care within 1 Year.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 60 Days.
• RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers physician prescribed respiratory therapy, including oxygen, respiratory medication, PFTs, ABGs, and all mechanical ventilation.
• Performs evaluation procedures to determine respiratory care needs and assists with treatment plans.
• Monitors patients requiring mechanical ventilation and conducts rounds and weaning.
• Collects and analyzes sputum, blood and breath specimens for diagnosis and assesses lung function.
• Offers diagnostic results and treatment suggestions based on analysis.
• Communicates with health care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Ensures smooth operation of PFT/ABG lab and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
