Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory therapy, assess patient conditions, consult with physicians, and monitor progress in a NICU setting.

The role requires graduation from an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care, RRT certification within one year, ACLS within 60 days, and provides day shifts with a rotating weekend schedule in an on-site Lehigh Valley Hospital NICU.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• RRT certification within 1 year.
• ACLS certification within 60 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers physician prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen, respiratory medications, PFTs, ABGs, and mechanical ventilation.
• Evaluates respiratory care needs and makes recommendations per department protocols to improve outcomes.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation and conducts rounds, troubleshooting, weaning, and airway care.
