Qualifications

• Must be credentialed as a certified or registered respiratory therapist by the NBRC.
• Must have an active Iowa license as a respiratory care practitioner at hire.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Abuse mandatory reporter training within 6 months of hire and every 3 years; ACLS preferred within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs inhaled medication therapy and blood gas analysis.
• Assists with intubation and manages artificial airways.
• Troubleshoots and maintains respiratory care equipment.
• Interprets diagnostic results including blood gases and pulmonary tests.
• Documents records, billing, and medical records.
• Provides patient instruction on respiratory care devices and procedures.
