Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a full-time, 12-hour day shift. The role covers pediatric to geriatric care across ICU, ED, and general units, with a 36-hour work week and Sat/Sun as part of the schedule.

You will perform spirometry, oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and patient education, while meeting NBRC credentials and Iowa licensure requirements. Sign-on bonus and relocation support are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science required.
• Graduate of respiratory therapy program or board-eligible within months of graduation; certification required at hire/transfer.
• Credentialed by NBRC at CRT or RRT level.
• Current Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure.
• CAPRS and N95 fit testing within 30 days of hire.
• Must demonstrate competence in Respiratory Care.
• Must be able to read, write and/or speak English.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine respiratory care to pediatric through geriatric patients in general acute care, ICU, ED and other settings.
• Perform incentive spirometry, oxygen therapy, bronchodilator therapies and ventilator management.
• Conduct objective testing such as spirometry and arterial blood gases.
• Educate patients and assist with community education on respiratory care.
• Work across departments in general acute care areas, ICU, ED and surgical suites.
