Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide routine respiratory care across pediatric to geriatric patients. You will perform spirometry, arterial blood gases, ventilator management and related testing in ICU, ED, and general care areas.

Requirements include a respiratory therapy program education, NBRC credential, Iowa licensure, and CAPRS/N95 fit testing within 30 days. Expect a full benefits package with opportunities for growth within MercyOne.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science.
• Graduate of a respiratory therapy program or board-eligible at hire.
• NBRC credential at CRT or RT level; Iowa licensure required.
• CAPRS and N95 fit testing validation within 30 days of hire.
• Must read, write and speak English; demonstrate respiratory care competence.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine respiratory care to pediatric through geriatric patients.
• Perform spirometry, pulmonary procedures, EKG, arterial blood gases and related testing.
• Ventilator management, CPAP/BIPAP, suctioning and patient education.
• Respond to resuscitation/rapid response pages as part of the team.
• Work in multiple locations including ICU, ED, surgical suites and general care.
