Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa seeks a Respiratory Therapist to assess patients, evaluate therapy needs, administer treatments, and coordinate with care teams across age groups including neonates to geriatrics. Will troubleshoot equipment and support ventilatory care as part of a dedicated team.

Responsibilities include delivering meds, performing tests, documenting results, and teaching patients. Night shifts with sign-on bonus and relocation support highlighted.

Qualifications

• Certificate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program (CAAHEP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist by NBRC.
• Iowa license as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform inhaled medication therapy and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment.
• Interpret diagnostic results and document findings in patient records.
• Provide patient instruction on use of respiratory devices and therapies.
• Assist with CPR, airway management, and transport of patients requiring ventilatory support.

CAAHEP-accredited Respiratory Care Program certificate

NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist

Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner license

BLS for Healthcare Providers

Mandatory Reporter abuse training (within 3 months of hire)
