Job summary

MercyOne Health System in the Quad Cities region seeks a Respiratory Therapist for night shifts to assess patients, administer therapy, and collaborate with clinicians. The role covers neonate to geriatric patients with a focus on safe, effective respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Must be certified or registered as a respiratory therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care on hire.
• Must hold an active Iowa license as a respiratory care practitioner on hire.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• ACLS preferred within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform inhaled medication therapy, arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, and pulmonary function testing.
• Assist in CPR and patient transport for ventilated patients.
• Troubleshoot and operate respiratory care equipment.
• Interpret diagnostic results (blood gases, co-oximetry, PFT, capnography).
• Maintain documentation and billing records.
• Instruct patients on use of respiratory devices.
