Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess patients, administer therapy, and consult with care teams. The role covers neonate to geriatric patients, with night shifts and a 12-hour schedule.

Qualifications

• CAAHEP accredited Respiratory Care Program completion is required.
• NBRC certification as a CRT is required.
• Iowa license as Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required or obtainable within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform inhaled medication therapy and various pulmonary procedures as ordered by physician.
• Participate in CPR, assist or perform intubation and manage artificial airway.
• Assemble, troubleshoot and maintain Respiratory Care equipment.
• Interpret diagnostic results including blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests.
• Maintain records and documentation of care and billing.

CAAHEP accredited Respiratory Care Program

NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist

State of Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner license

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Mandatory Reporter abuse training completion
