Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the 12x3 night shift. You will perform ABGs, PFTs, and ventilator support for adults and neonates, under indirect supervision of the medical director.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS/ACLS, NBRC credentials, Texas license, and 6 months of experience. The hospital offers a collaborative environment and access to advanced therapies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• NRP/Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics to include oxygen administration, aerosol and humidity therapy, bronchial hygiene and airway maintenance.
• Performs arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs as prescribed.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Uses critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient information.
• Assembles, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment such as ventilators and gas analyzers.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance activities.
• Maintains and cleans cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
