Northwest Healthcare, Oro Valley Hospital, is seeking a full-time Registrar to support the Admitting department in Oro Valley, AZ. Night shift includes 3x12 hour shifts and 1x6 hour shift with schedule to be determined by department needs.

The Registrar ensures accurate demographic and insurance data capture, pre-registration, and efficient patient flow, while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining complete medical records.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years in healthcare including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required.
• 0-2 years in a customer service role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients and families to address questions with courteous, timely assistance.
• Regulates schedules based on procedure requirements, physician availability, and staffing needs.
• Schedules patient procedures and pre-registers scheduled patients with accurate demographic information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and secures necessary authorizations and verifications for services.
• Collects and records patient financial responsibility estimates as applicable.
• Communicates operative reports daily to appropriate physician offices.
• Compiles and organizes registration documentation to ensure completion of patient records.
• Collects patient co-pays or deductibles and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and answers questions.
