Job summary

Dallas Center United Methodist is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide specialized respiratory care for both adult and neonatal patients. The role includes ABG, PFT, ventilator support, and oxygen therapy under the department medical director's policy framework.

Qualifications

• Must be able to care for patients of all ages.
• Excellent critical thinking and bedside assessment skills.
• Ability to interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT data.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside respiratory assessment, patient interview and chart review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data to inform patient care.
• Assembles and maintains cardiopulmonary equipment such as ventilators, oxygen analyzers and blood gas analyzers.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance activities.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.

Education

Accredited Respiratory Care Program graduate

BLS certification

ACLS certification

NRP and PALS within 1 year of hire

Texas Medical Board license as Respiratory Care Practitioner

NBRC registration

6+ months respiratory care experience
