Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center in Dallas County seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform a range of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures across adult and neonatal patients. You will work under indirect supervision and must demonstrate competence in respiratory assessment and treatment per department policy.

Requirements include a degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS and ACLS, Texas license, NBRC registration, and at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NRP/Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen therapy, humidification and airway maintenance.
• Administer and monitor ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support as ordered.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostics such as ABG analysis and pulse oximetry.
• Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT data with clinical reasoning.
• Maintain and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment and supplies.
• Participate in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
