Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Texas Medical Board license as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is required.
• NRP must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy and ventilation.
• Conducts ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECG as part of patient assessment.
• Prepares and communicates treatment evaluations based on patient data and medical records.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data to guide care.
• Operates and troubleshoots respiratory equipment and delivery devices.
• Maintains infection control, safety and quality assurance in the department.
