Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL, seeks a Part-time Night Staff Nurse for the 7pm–7:30am shift in the 3S Observation Unit. This fast-paced unit handles varied diagnoses with rapid discharge planning and coordination across disciplines.

The role requires BSN, active IL RN license, BLS, and strong teamwork; ADN with commitment to BSN within 3 years is acceptable. You will collect data, plan and evaluate care, collaborate with physicians and families, and support

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate with others.
Strong analytic abilities.
ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of employment.

Responsibilities

Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
Directs care and determines appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and ancillary staff; documents plans focused on outcomes and communications.
Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing interventions; individualizes the plan of care based on evaluation.
Uses evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
