Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit on the 3S, a fast-paced environment providing observation status care. This part-time night position requires clinical competence, collaboration, and discharge planning across disciplines.

RN responsibility includes nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for acutely ill patients. Qualifications include Illinois RN licensure, ADN acceptable with BSN plan within three years, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois with current practice status.
• ADN required with commitment to obtain BSN within three years.
• BLS certification and strong patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes patient data, plans care, and evaluates outcomes.
• Directs care and coordinates with any assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patients, families, physicians, and staff to document a care plan.
• Participates in governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses and adjusts the care plan accordingly.
• Utilizes evidence-based practice to guide nursing decisions.
