Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Recovery Specialist to provide non-clinical support and recovery education to clients within a hospital setting at RWJ - Somerset. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to connect patients with recovery resources, develop care plans, and support their path to self-directed wellness.

The role emphasizes lived recovery experience, compassionate communication, and engagement with diverse individuals.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in recovery principles.
Ability to travel within a 60-mile radius of the assigned hospital for cross coverage when needed.
Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) within 6 months of employment.
Bilingual ability, preferred and prior Recovery Specialist experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Engage clients with non-clinical support and build trust using lived recovery experience.
Conduct client screenings and document in the electronic health record per IFPR guidelines.
Create individualized recovery support plans based on patient needs and determinants of health.
Connect clients with community services and resources supporting recovery.
Educate individuals on navigating treatment and social services alongside hospital staff.
