Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Recovery Specialist to provide non-clinical support and help develop recovery care plans. The role involves engaging clients with lived experience, documenting progress, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to connect patients with community resources.

Per diem schedule includes 7:00am–7:30pm shifts, travel within a 60-mile radius of the assigned hospital, and NCPRSS certification within 6 months. Bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; minimum four (4) years in recovery principles.
• Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Bilingual ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical support to clients to build recovery plans and foster trust.
• Conduct screenings and document information in the EHR per IFPR guidelines.
• Create individualized recovery support plans based on patient needs and social determinants of health.
• Connect clients with community resources and non-clinical services to support recovery.
• Educate individuals on navigating treatment and recovery systems; coordinate with IFPR Patient Navigators and hospital staff.
