Job summary

The Samuel Adams Brewery in Breinigsville, PA is hiring a Full Time Lead Quality Technician for the night shift (6pm–6am). You will oversee night-shift packaging, chemistry, and microbiology QA activities, coach technicians, and drive GMP compliance while supporting safety programs and process improvements.

You’ll validate product quality through SOPs, QARs, and DPMRs, maintain LIMS records, and partner with Brewing and Packaging teams to resolve deviations.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in a production facility or laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with packaging, brewing, and microbiological laboratory practices.
• Knowledge of HACCP, 5S, GMP, and laboratory and production safety practices.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting equipment.
• Proficiency with computers and data-entry/interpretation tools including MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access and QI Analyst.
• Experience applying continuous improvement, analytical, problem-solving, and project-management skills in a production or lab setting.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee night-shift operations across packaging, chemistry, and microbiology labs to meet quality and safety standards.
• Lead and coach Technicians; ensure SOP adherence and maintain capability records.
• Investigate deviations, perform root-cause analyses, and develop corrective actions.
• Update and create quality SOPs; communicate changes via One-Point Lessons (OPLs).
• Audit CPs/CCPs; conduct GMP audits; validate processes; manage QA reports and DPMRs.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment; manage LIMS tracking; participate in sensory panels.
