Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group in Dubuque is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Psychiatric Services unit on the 3rd shift, 6:00 pm to 6:30 am, 36 hours per week. As an RN, you will provide safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions.

You will supervise LPNs and aides, coordinate with physicians and families, and uphold MercyOne’s mission, vision and values.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Current or compact RN licensure in Iowa
• BLS required
• ACLS required if telemetry
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessment
• Identifies patient problems and develops plan of care
• Implements outcome/goal-based plan of care
• Evaluates patient progress and revises the plan as needed
• Communicates clinical information to the team to optimize outcomes
• Demonstrates clinical competence
• Manages telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable
• Provides care appropriate to age-related needs of patients on the unit
• Adheres to safety, infection control and health policies
• Maintains knowledge of laws and regulations governing practice

Education

Associate degree in nursing

BSN preferred

RN licensure (Iowa)

BLS certification

ACLS certification

Mandatory Reporter training
