Job summary

Saint-Gobain, via its CertainTeed subsidiary, seeks a Production Supervisor I to lead hourly production teams in a 24/7 manufacturing setting. You will coach staff, manage safety and quality, and drive continuous improvement with Lean/5S practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing or related environment.
• Experience leading teams and driving performance results.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices and creating a safe work environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with evaluating information and implementing solutions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise hourly production employees to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Foster a strong safety culture by conducting shift meetings, enforcing EHS requirements, and ensuring compliance with policies.
• Set performance expectations, provide coaching and development opportunities, and support employee engagement and accountability.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and developing production team members.
• Ensure employees receive training and follow operating procedures and work instructions.
• Investigate safety, environmental, quality, and operational incidents and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement via Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and other programs.
• Maintain workplace organization and housekeeping standards.
• Review and approve time records and ensure payroll accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, quality, reliability, and plant performance.
