Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee a shift in our Ames, IA facility. You will manage hourly staff, coach safety and quality, and coordinate daily production plans to meet targets. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on oversight to keep operations efficient.

You will drive training, conduct performance reviews, and troubleshoot issues affecting output. The position offers a full benefits package and a 12-hour schedule (4 on/4 off) with nights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; three to five years in production environment, plastics preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to manage labor and safety.
• Proficient in producing schedules, prioritizing work, and solving operational issues.

Responsibilities

• Supervise hourly production staff and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Oversee training, performance evaluations, and staffing to meet production goals.
• Monitor productivity, labor variance, downtime, and product quality; take corrective actions.
• Authorize shutdowns to prevent defective product and communicate shift data.
