Job summary

ITW (Illinois Tool Works) seeks a Night Shift Production Supervisor for its Decatur, AL facility to lead a safe, efficient, and high-performing night shift. You will ensure targets are met, uphold quality, and drive timely reporting and documentation.

You will guide staffing decisions, coach teams, and push continuous improvement while maintaining compliance with policies and standards. A Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or related field.
• 3–5 years in manufacturing, operations, or team leadership with readiness to supervise.
• Lean manufacturing exposure: OEE, TPM, 5S, SPC; want ongoing development.
• Experience leading change management and process improvements.
• Strong ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and motivate fast-paced teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital performance tools.
• Growth mindset and initiative to advance within ITW.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop night shift operations to meet safety, quality, and production targets.
• Direct daily activities, reinforce procedures, and ensure policy compliance.
• Coach and cross-train team members; set goals and build skills.
• Oversee staffing decisions, hires, performance, and discipline.
• Conduct 30/60/90 day, midyear, and annual performance reviews.
• Manage shift workforce planning: scheduling, overtime, staffing adjustments.
• Maintain shift records and reporting: safety, attendance, production, scrap, training, quality.
• Lead investigations and improvement initiatives with proper follow-up.
