Job summary

Loparex LLC in Iowa City is seeking a shift supervisor to lead a 12-hour rotating night crew on the C shift. You will ensure safety, drive continuous improvement, coordinate staffing, and maintain communication with other departments.

Responsibilities include coaching team members, conducting performance discussions, overseeing training, resolving equipment issues, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
• Solid computer and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to lead others and give direction in a positive, professional manner.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 12 hours.
• Knowledge of poly coating, silicone coating, slitting, and printing preferred.
• Must wear personal protective equipment including ear plugs, safety glasses and steel toe shoes.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety by leading by example and encouraging safe practices.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement in safety performance.
• Lead the shift with a positive attitude and set the team's standards.
• Coordinate daily staffing to maximize machine utilization and throughput.
• Ensure clear communication between crew and other departments.
• Understand and contribute to product quality and process improvements.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and problem-solving on the line.
• Resolve shift-level process and equipment issues promptly.
• Oversee training for the shift and participate in discipline and performance discussions.
• Act as a quality mentor and 5Y super user on the shift.
