Job summary

dsm-firmenich is seeking a 3rd Shift Leader in Production to oversee and optimize food ingredient manufacturing processes. You will lead a team, coordinate with the scheduler, manage raw materials, and ensure equipment readiness while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in production, and a commitment to a night shift schedule (Sunday to Thursday, 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM). Weekend work is required; forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience in manufacturing environment; lead experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate a team.
• In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, and health and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign duties to Production Operators and Production Workers.
• Notify the Production Supervisor and Scheduler of raw material needs and issues.
• Follow process formulas using raw materials such as cheese, cream, butter, and cream cheese.
• Work with live enzymes to achieve the finished product.
• Maintain processes within product specifications, including TA, moisture, salt, and fat.
• Follow cook step pasteurization.
• Maintain incubation periods based on product strength requirements.
• Load and unload materials.
• Package finished products.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Clean machines and facilities.
• Adhere to food defense and food safety protocols.
