Job summary

Oldcastle APG in North Carolina is seeking an Equipment and Machine Operator to operate machinery and follow safety policies in producing high-quality precast and related products. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to procedures for reliable output.

The position supports other operators, performs routine maintenance, and ensures a clean, organized work area while contributing to on-time production and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related experience.
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electricity, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
• Computer literacy and strong mechanical ability.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance, ensuring quality.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and complete tasks to meet deadlines.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area to keep workspace clear and orderly.
