Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the postpartum/newborn nursery team at The Mother Baby Center in Minneapolis, MN. This role supports patients under RN supervision, performing personal care, vital signs, and comfort measures during the night shift.

The position is 0.7 FTE with an 8-hour night shift, every other weekend, and requires CNA credentials or equivalent clinical experience; SEIU union membership is applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age OR: 17 years of age with high school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program OR:
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program OR:
• Completion of the Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program OR:
• Previous direct patient care experience

Responsibilities

• Performs personal care/interventions as assigned.
• Collects and documents vital signs and observations of patients.
• Assists RN with admissions, transfers, discharges and post-mortem care.
• May transport medications within the site (excluding controlled substances).
• Maintains patient comfort, safety, and dignity, including mobility and hygiene needs.
