Job summary

Schäfer System International Inc. is seeking a Controls Support Technician in York, PA to provide on-site technical support for automated material handling systems.

You will troubleshoot PLCs, MFS, and visualization hardware, working with customers and cross-functional teams to maximize uptime and efficiency. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and experience with Siemens S7 or .NET automation, plus familiarity with industrial networks and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Experience with PLCs, Siemens S7 or .NET automation systems
• Knowledge of conveyors, automated cranes, packaging systems, and drive tech

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and support PLCs, MFS, and automation equipment.
• Diagnose faults via root-cause analysis to minimize downtime.
• Monitor performance and identify reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with onsite staff, software developers, and global teams.
• Maintain documentation, help-desk tickets, and training materials.
