Job summary

SSI SCHAEFER, a global intralogistics leader, is seeking a Controls Support Technician to provide onsite technical support for automated material handling systems in warehouses. You will diagnose faults, troubleshoot PLCs and automation equipment, and collaborate with software developers and cross-functional teams to maximize uptime and operational performance.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and PLC experience; be prepared for on-call rotations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
Experience supporting PLCs and Siemens S7 or .NET automation.
Knowledge of conveyors, automated cranes, packaging systems, and drive tech.
Familiarity with Ethernet, AS-i, PROFIBUS networks.
Experience with AutoCAD or EPLAN preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and support PLCs, MFS, and automation equipment.
Diagnose faults and perform root-cause analysis to minimize downtime.
Monitor system performance and identify reliability improvements.
Collaborate with onsite personnel, software developers, customers, and global teams to resolve issues and maintain uptime.
Maintain documentation and develop training materials for internal teams and customers.
