Job summary

Crafted Staff is seeking a Controls / Automation Technician in McElhattan, PA for a full-time, night-shift role. The candidate will troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize control systems across manufacturing operations, ensuring safety and reliability.

Strong electrical background and hands-on automation experience are required. The role involves calibrating sensors, wiring and programming on PLCs/HMIs, and collaborating with Production and Maintenance teams to support continuous line performance.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Electronics or equivalent Required.
3+ years of industrial experience.
Strong electrical theory, and working knowledge of controller-based hardware and software.
Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Follow OSHA and company safety standards with PPE.
Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and calibrate electrical sensors (photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, etc.).
Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and commission electrical control devices (AC/DC drives, servo controllers, motors, breakers).
Troubleshoot, repair, and commission PLC and HMI hardware (processors, I/O, power supplies).
Diagnose system issues using laptops connected to PLCs, HMIs, and servo systems.
Perform wiring and programming changes on production equipment; conduct electrical preventive maintenance.
