Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Lab Assistant to perform phlebotomy and specimen collection. The role uses LIS and HIS to register patients, enter orders, and generate reports while handling diagnostic and referral specimens.

You will work full-time nights (30 hrs/wk) with rotating weekends and holidays. The position requires High School/GED and 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred; phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Basic phlebotomy training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection procedures.
• Processes and sends out specimens and body fluids.
• Enters orders.
• Performs accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting.
• Generates reports.
• Registers patients.
• Provides basic customer service.
• Maintains inventory levels and stocks supplies.
• Phlebotomy duties may be needed.
