Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist at Lorain Hospital. This role involves performing phlebotomy and specimen collection, utilizing hospital information systems for patient registration and report generation.
Candidates should have a high school diploma/GED, a preference for phlebotomy certification, and experience in the field. The position offers competitive pay along with various benefits including medical and dental coverage.
Required to work a minimum of 24 hours per month, 2 full weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) per 6‑week schedule, 1 holiday per year, and rotating shifts.
The Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy and specimen collection. They use the Lab Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) for phlebotomy, patient registration, order entry, result look‑up, and report generation. Specimens for diagnostic and referral testing are processed, sorted, and submitted, and accurate registration is maintained.
Phlebotomy Certification (preferred)
High School/GED (required)
1 year phlebotomy experience (preferred)
Basic phlebotomy training (preferred)
