Job summary

Mercy Health—Lorain Hospital is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist on a PRN basis. The role involves phlebotomy, specimen processing, data entry into LIS/HIS, and patient registration. Rotating shifts, with minimum 24 hours per month, weekend shifts, and one holiday per year are required.

Qualifications include High School/GED, 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred, and basic phlebotomy training. Certification is preferred; travel to offsite locations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection procedures
• Processes and sends out specimen and body fluids
• Enters orders
• Performs accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting of samples
• Generates reports
• Registers patients
• Provides basic customer service
• Maintains inventory levels and stocks supplies
• Phlebotomist duties may be needed
