Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist in Lorain, OH to perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, registration, and result reporting within LIS/HIS systems.

The role requires high school diploma, 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred, and may include Microbiology duties when assigned. Travel to off-site locations may be required; shifts are rotating with weekend and holiday requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Basic phlebotomy training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection procedures.
• Process and send out specimens and body fluids.
• Enter orders.
• Perform accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting of samples.
• Generate reports.
• Register patients.
• Provide basic customer service.
• Maintain inventory levels and stock supplies.
• When in Microbiology, set up samples and prepare gram stains; perform MST as needed.
• Phlebotomy duties may be required.
