Job summary

LabCorp is seeking a PRN Hospital Phlebotomist to join our team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL. The role involves blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques, specimen processing, and providing excellent patient service.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday 10:30pm to 7:00am with two weekends per month required; travel to additional sites may be needed. A high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy certification or training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Preferred: 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
